Night Auditor

The Anchorage Inn in York Beach, Maine is looking for a part time (2 over nights/week) Hotel Front Desk Night Auditor to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation.

Hotel Front Desk Night Auditor responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. Additionally, the night auditor balances out the days reports, addresses any issues during the overnight shift and works with our general manager to rectify any reporting discrepancies.

The night audit shifts available are Wednesday & Thursday evenings 11pm-7am (overnight). Additional day time front desk shifts may be available if desired.


Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
Manage online and phone reservations
Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
Audit and balance reports from the day shift
Schedule guest wake-up calls and reservations for the following day
Verify that all end of day work has been performed by other departments
Run end of day computer functions so they are complete by the end of the shift
Prepare guest bills for next-day checkouts and process reservation cards
Balance cash drawers and record receipts

Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, at least 1 year
Experience with hotel reservations software
Understanding of how travel planning websites operate
Customer service attitude
Excellent communication and organizational skill
Availability from 11pm-7am 2 evenings per week on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
